big girl!

samantha had her 18 month well-check yesterday. she is 26.5 pounds, and 34 inches tall. which means she is in the 79th percentile for weight and the 99th percentile for height. i kinda felt like a loser after the appointment because the doc was asking me all the questions like, does she know 5+ words, does she know any body parts etc.... ya, it never even crossed my mind to teach her the names of things. (ya, i deserve the mother of the year award!) last night i started asking her where her nose is etc and it only took a couple times before she knew what i was asking. i'm pretty sure i had taught annie and katelyn the names of animals and their sounds by now too. i still see samantha as my little baby, and yesterday it dawned on me that she's a little girl now. the doc asked if she has had any interest in the potty...ya that shocked me into reality. i can't believe she'll be old enough for potty training in 6 months. time goes by so fast. i'm so grateful for healthy children....who develop and grow even if i'm no help!

Ha! At least you know that she already has an interest in the toilet-- you just gotta get it focused in the right direction!

She does watch little einsteins everyday, so she probably knows more than you realize.

My Brinley is the same age as Samatha! That is so crazy. And I was just as shocked by the questions the doc asked. When she asked about the words she was saying I thought to myself "She just whines a lot and gets what she wants" but when I counted them she actually knew quite a bit. Doesn't time go by fast when you are always busy and super tired!

I think it must be a third-child thing. I keep forgetting to teach mine stuff too because in my mind he is still a newborn!

I think Dax was 26.7 pounds at his 18 month (actually I think he was 19 months, ya I was a little late). Holy cow, potty already, ya right, not at this house. Your kids are always so great at that though.

okay this is the part where I get to nag you to post more often. Because seriously, I realized in the shower this morning that this is going to be the first thanksgiving/christmas split I'm gonna be doing without you.

thanks a lot.

I posted some more soccer pictures, so you'll have to let Katelyn see them. It is so weird, it seems like we should be seing you guys this next week because it is Thanksgiving. Hope you have a great Thanksgiving, we will miss you. You better come out on spring break.
