more pics of KY

ok...i forgot these last time!! and they're so cute...i just had to post them!i can't really remember what was happening in this pic, but i'm pretty sure it was something like my mom was trying to keep samanatha from touching the electric fence that keeps the horses in!! samantha had a tight grip on crampa's hair!
a park we went to had this creek running through it. the girls couldn't resist, and by the time we left they were soaked!!! this is why i love crocs...by the way!! the only reason they wanted to get out is because they found a crawfish (it looks like a mini lobster) and it totally grossed katelyn out. she swore never to get in a "river" again!! samantha on the other hand wanted to touch it!

this is a house i saw while in kentucky. i pulled off the highway to take a picture of it. someday i will have a house that looks like this. wrap around porches are my favorite...i love them!!!

st. george (spring break) pics....FINALLY!

it finally dawned on my that i never posted these. this trip couldn't have come at a better time. by march we were so sick and tired of winter, so the warm weather in st. george was heavenly. plus...the kids have a blast with their cousins.
we spent a day in vegas with the becks first, and we all went to the green valley ranch buffet. it's tradition, and we usually would pig out on crab. unfortunately the buffet "rules" have changed so we still had a good time, but i don't think we'll go back.
jeff and kristians always make sure they remain the favorites by totally kissing up!! the girls had fun blowing bubbles with them.
katelyn and allysah
shailee and annie
3 little monsters...chandler, samantha, and daxton

grandpa o. has a sweet little fire pit thingy, and the kids love making s'mores with him. it freaks grandma o. out, so she usually stays inside until it's over!!!!

katelyn and james have been best buds since they were born...we've had to explain to them 100 times that cousins can't get married. this trip though katleyn was all about hanging out with "the girls". it was kinda sad because it made me realize that she's growing up. (the pic is of jordyn, katleyn, kamryn, annie, and james's foot!)samantha and uncle jeff. we had all just eaten at the pizza factory...another tradition! sami kept finding jeff's hat and wearing it the whole trip!grandma and grandpa o. have a really nice hot tub in their backyard. grandpa is so good about keeping the tempature low so the kids can get in it and swim. it tons of fun for them. (here again is jeff and kristina kissing up! ha ha ha ha)

pics from kentucky trip...finally!

katelyn and annie on crampa's mare. surprisingly annie's the one who loved to ride. katelyn would just so annie couldn't show her up, but annie's the one who loves it.
the is a pic of my parents' backyard...the girls had so much fun out there blowing bubbles, playing frisbee, and playing tag.
ok, so there have been many times that derek and i have wanted to kill this dog, but after this trip i don't hate him AS much. samantha followed him everywhere saying "Where's the poppy?" over and over and over again. he was so good to take her torture for 10 days!! now that we're home she always says, "Where's Du?" (the dog's name is Duke....)samantha having a good old time with the hose. every time she would spray herself it would take her breath away...and then she would do it again!
i put the girls to work washing our van! it had rained really hard the night before, so there were worms all over the drive way. katleyn was totally disgusted by this and made grandma help her pick up a bunch of them and throw them back in the grass. katelyn had to use leaves because there was no way she was touching them. annie on the other hand thought it was cool and she didn't mind the worms at all. oh, this is my parents' front yard.

every morning and evening the big girls would go with grandpa to the property to feed the horses and play. they loved going, and they got to spend alot of great time with my dad. they had fun picking flowers and running free!when the ground was dry enough grandpa would take the truck up to the horses...i never witnessed this, but the girls would sit in the bed of the truck while he drove up the property and they would be bouncing all over the place...laughing their heads off! they LOVED it. even now when i ask them about it they start cracking up just thinking about it.kristina came out to kentucky for the last 3 days of our trip. i'm happy to report she's bigger than me!! which she should be since she 6 weeks farther along than me...but i was worried i would be much bigger and i don't know if my ego would've handled it!!!katelyn and annie with crampa. official kentuckians.

american idol

a little comic relief!!

MISSING HUSBAND

Rick was in trouble. He forgot his wedding anniversary. His wife was really angry. She told him
'Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in thedriveway that goes from 0 to 200 in less than 10 seconds, AND IT BETTER BE THERE!!'

The next morning Rick got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up she looked out the window and sure enough there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway. Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house. She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.

Rick has been missing since Friday.
Please pray for him.

name obsession

ok, so i've been obsession about the baby's name since finding out it's a girl. i call derek about 100 times a day and ask him about this name or that. it's been pretty difficult because derek and i have alot of "guide lines" we want followed. i want her name to match my other girls' names, derek wants her to have a nickname that ends in the "E" sound (katie, annie, sami...), it has to go ok with oliverson, it can't be turned into a perverted joke, and the other girls have middle names, so this one need a middle name too. so finally...i think we've found her first name at least. i'm so excited...and i pretty sure it's the one because i haven't changed my mind and it's been 24 hours!!! ok, so i'm thinking "nicole" and the nickname will be "nikki". katelyn, annie, samantha, and nicole....that matches, right?!!! yay! anyway, now the trick is finding a good middle name. i like "lynn". Nicole Lynn Oliverson. i've got to convince derek of that one. if any of you have a thought on the matter...suggestions/ideas are welcome!!!

american idol

ok, so i am totally bugged. i can't believe brooke white is still on AI and micheal johns got voted off. it should have been the other way around for sure. anyway, i usually don't care who gets voted off as long as it's not my favorite singer, but this time i got all fired up. brooke bugs the heck out of me!!!

Thoughts about Kentucky

on thursday my dad flew to omaha, and then friday he drove with the girls and me to KY. it's the girls' spring break, and we'd never been to my parents' new place. honestly i did not have very high expectations of kentucky. like the rest of my family i've pretty much thought my parents must be insane to move here. i have to say that i have been very pleasantly surprised. it is BEAUTIFUL. their house is nice...just the right size. there are obvious things that could be updated (like the light fixtures...which i've been giving them a hard time about since i walked in the door!!) the property they bought is awesome...and if they devolope it like planned it will be an amazing neighborhood. the town is small, but it has a lowe's and walmart and 2 high schools!! and about 15 miles out of town there is a huge lake with hiking/biking trails around it and parks/playgrouds near the shore. the only down side is the size of the church here. there's one branch and it is tiny...like 20 people. when that's your social group it's hard to make alot of friends. i've been thinking though...it is so tempting to move back to utah. being close to friends and family...and living in a place where the church is huge. you're pretty much never out of your comfort zone. but then i think about it, and for me...i've loved being in omaha where the church isn't huge. i've made a couple of great friends who i've been able to share the gospel with...just answering their questions, but still. in this world it is difficult to make a difference, but i feel like if i live and raise my family somewhere the gospel is small i have a better chance of making a difference. i have a better chance of sharing the gospel. i'm not saying i want to move to kentucky. i'm just saying that i understand better why my parents moved here. i used to be pretty bugged that they moved somewhere we most likely will never move...i want them closer to the kids. but if you look at the bigger picture it makes sense. during general conference there was a talk by Henry B. Eyring, and he was saying he feels bad he doesn't get to spend as much time with his family as he would like, but he knows he's been promised he'll be with his family forever. he said he's doing the work he's been called to do with the hope that he'll have time with his family in the eternities. i don't know where we're going to go after derek graduates, but i do know that i would love to live somewhere i can make a difference.
