week 9

i had an epiphany earlier today. when i'm pregnant i don't lose one hair off of my head. i have really thick hair, and usually i shed like a dog, but not when i'm pregnant. a few weeks after the baby is born i lose all the hair i saved up while pregnant. (sorry if this is gross, but i have to explain my epiphany!!) it hadn't happened yet. alexis is 9 1/2 weeks old and i kinda just figured i wasn't going to lose so much hair this time. well, today in the shower it happened. the reason this is a big deal is because i have been so hard on myself about losing weight etc. when my hair started falling out i realized i just barely had a baby. i want results NOW. i don't want it to take a long time. this is not a good way to think because it makes it very easy to get discouraged. so, i took a deep breath, and i'm going to give myself a little slack. today we're going to get me a really good ankle brace, and some new running shoes. so monday i'll be all ready to go. anyway, my weight stayed the same this week. i'm trying to figure out how many calories to eat to lose weight, but keep producing enough breastmilk. it's a very tricky thing!

Hey girl! I am so glad you had this epiphany, you are doing soooooo well, and I hate to hear you being down on yourself. Hey it isn't like this is baby #1...I should know! ;) Did you know that the hair thing is totally normal and happens to most women? I WISH my hair was as thick as yours even after it falls out post-baby! I really have to start excercising, having 4 kids and hubby gone just about 16 hours a day doesn't give me much time...not to mention I am so lazy! :)!!!! YOU stay positive, you are doing GREAT, this sounds so cheesy, but I am proud of you! It is a big deal to try to get back in shape- and an even bigger deal to do it on the blog!!! :) This week I am going to try to start being good like you! :)

I worry so much after I have a baby too. I'm so huge right now I wish I could start losing and I still have 2 months of pregnancy left.

That is so funny that Brandon is your cousin. Carey and I are really good friends from High School. It's a small world if you're LDS.

I lose my hair like crazy too! It's amazing that I have any hair left. Katelyn in 7 months old and I've lost 10 lbs. I'm stuck there. But i haven't gained so that's good.
